The "C" Word

A week ago today I got the worst news I could have every imagined. My very healthy mother has cancer. Last Monday was such a blur, but I have the best Fiance in the world who got me a bag of Peanut Butter M&M's and made me supper.

Saturday I surprised my mom with lunch at Olive Garden (she had never been) and a couple guests joined us..my brother and his girlfriend. They were in town to see the play Sweeney Todd so I had to give my mom the best surprise I could think of since I knew she needed a little happiness after the week she had.

Fast forward to today and she still has many decisions to make yet. The doctors are still testing to figure out their plan of attack and I know she is very much wanting to just get rid of the cancer now. I see where I get my impatient qualities from. :) I am so glad to have this week off to be home and supportive before I start my new job.

Let's hope for a better week and for good news!

Missing my pup

It was as if the girls on my Knot month board were reading my mind. I logged in and a dozen of them had posted pictures of their pets. My pet, Bailey, a yellow Labrador Retriever, has to live at my parents' farm since we cannot have pets in our apartment. I just saw her over the weekend, but I miss her already. I worry about her when it's hot, but I know she's smart enough to go play in the creek if she gets too hot.

The other dog is Bailey's half sister, Dixie, who is owned by my brother. My parents have both kids out of the house, but they gained two dogs to replace us for the time being. :)

Blogging Take Two

Hello! My name is Ashley and this is my second attempt to blogging. My first attempt was back in college when my bestie moved to the big city for college. We tried to blog everyday about what was going on in our lives in order to stay in touch a different way. It maybe lasted a month. I don't even know what my old blog was called since I set it up on the college e-mail I had at the time.

Life has changed incredibly since my first blog. I live in an actual town! Come along on my journey to becoming a Mrs. and exploring the new state I'm living in with my soon to be hubby!
