Being home this past weekend allowed me to see part of my beloved Hawkeyes play while getting ready for a wedding, but I learned something that I have in common with my grandpa. He died literally a month before my parents found out they were expecting me so I never got to know him or have his influence on our similarity. My mom just shared this weekend with me that I'm just like him because I love my Hawkeyes and watch them when I can, even going to a bar in Wisconsin and being the only Iowa fan in the place to watch the bowl game. But like my grandpa, I'm not a big NFL fan. Just something about college football and the fact they aren't paid millions to play makes me love it.
I know we lost the Cy-Hawks game...don't rub it in. I seriously thought this was the year!
